October 8th, 2008 by Randy SlabeyWe have Peugeot used cars by owner for sale at bargain prices.
It was a coffee, salt, and pepper mill during the mid of 1800s but now, it is the second largest automaker in Europe, next to Volkswagen. That’s how Peugeot did it all. But how was the transition period?
Peugeot factory was already involved with manufacturing business during the 1700s. The family-owned factory got into the milling business in 1800s. The Peugeot factory’s entry to the making of umbrella frames and wire wheels led to their creation of bicycles. It was in 1882 when Armand Peugeot introduced a range of bicycles. Among them is the Le Grand Bi. Due to the good response of the market, Peugeot continued to build bicycles.
The interest of the company for the automobile industry came when Armand met Gottlieb Daimler. He was convinced with the viability of the business because during those times, automobiles were just starting to become a necessity for the world.
A steam-powered, three-wheeled car was the first Peugeot automobile but this was bulky and heavy compared to other automobiles of that time. Peugeot decided to shift from the use of steam to the use of petrol. Peugeot made an engine and petrol car which is considered to be more sophisticated than its rival products.
Success started to flow after that. Although the company faced difficulties in the past, Peugeot still proves to be worthy of its place in the world of automobiles.
