History - Austin Healey
September 30th, 2008 by Randy SlabeyWe have Austin Healey used cars by owner for sale at bargain prices.
Austin Healey was a brand of sports car and the brains behind these distinguished cars were Donald Healey, a renowned automotive designer and engineer, and Leonard Lord of the Austin which was a division of British Motor Corporation. However, Austin only had a 20-year agreement under BMC which ended in 1972.
In passing, Austin is now under the ownership of Nanjing which was brought from MG Grove Group due to bankruptcy. And in 1997 Nanjing and Healey Automotive Consultants (the name of the firm that purchased Donald Healey Motor Company) came up with a contract that intends to restructure the Austin-Healey yet until now there is still no certainty as to when Austin-Healey will hit the market once again.
Austin-Healey sports car particularly the Big Healey was considerably raced in the United States and gained recognition by the Sports Club of America. Furthermore, Austin-Healey models competed in D, E, and F production classes earning National Championships in D and E production.
With Austin-Healey models like Austin-Healey 100, Austin-Healey 3000, and Austin-Healey Sprite it would be a shame if these outstanding sports cars will not return and be once again introduced in the market.
