History - Packard
We have Packard used cars by owner for sale at bargain prices.
Among the famous luxury automobile brands based in United States was the Packard. Although it did not make it until these days, Packard still has a reputation comparable to today’s luxury automakers. The marked good name of Packard is the reason why it is one of the most sought after automobiles of various vintage car collectors.
The interesting history of Packard started when James Ward Packard purchased a Winton car in 1898. Packard was a mechanical engineer and chose to purchase Winton because it is known to be a good and fast car. But to his disappointment, there were many flaws on Winton. Packard returned the car to its maker. But the builder made a furious reply to him and they ended up arguing. At the height of their argument, Winton challenged Packard to build a better car. Packard accepted the challenge and work on it immediately.
After one year, James Packard and his brother, William, founded a new automobile company and immediately released their first model. The brothers worked so hard to accelerate the company’s success. The focus of Packard is quality and dependability. To test their products, they joined endurance tests and car racing competitions and won in some. By that time, James has already fulfilled the challenge and made a better car than Winton.
Packard gained so much success and the marquee became popular among many car lovers. However, due to combining circumstances, the company ended in 1958.
Although Packard has given only a little time to contribute to the automobile industry, it has created a great mark in history. The high interest of people on Packard’s resurrection is a great proof of that.
